Stainless Steel Plate
Offering the most superior corrosion protection for trusses, MiTek MT20SS truss plates are fabricated with 20 gauge sheet steel that meets or exceeds the strength requirements of ASTM A924/A 924M Grade 40, Structural Steel.
The sheet steel used for our MT20-SS plates has a higher carbon content than standard sheet steel, severely inhibiting the formation of rust and substantially slowing down the rate of corrosion of the steel. This can extend the serviceable life of the trusses in environments where corrosion poses a serious structural concern.
Stainless steel plates are ideal for situations where the trusses are installed in environments of high humidity, high moisture or other chemical exposure. Typical uses involve agricultural buildings, salt storage sheds and structures that are deemed susceptible to steel corrosion due to the nature of the building. MT20SS plates can also be used in situations where the truss lumber itself has been chemically treated with preservatives that are corrosive to steel.
Due to their use in special applications only, our MT20SS plates are only available in limited sizes and are manufactured on a per-order basis, upon request.
