T-Plates
The MiTek 7×12 MT18HS truss plate is a specialty product for top chord bearing trusses with lumber oriented in the flat direction (3×2, 4×2). The plate is manufactured using 18 gauge sheet steel that meets or exceeds the strength requirements for ASTM A653/A653M Grade 60, Structural Steel.
The special T-shape design allows for the flange of the plate to extend directly over the support of a top-chord bearing truss. This overlap allows for an improved capacity of the top chord bearing joint, compared to that obtained using standard plates. This product is especially advantageous for support geometries where a gap exists between the inside edge of the support and the truss web.
